kill -9 (SIGKILL) always works, provided you have the permission to kill the process.

determine what the PID you want to kill.

run a command called TOP.

This will show you the processes with the higher use, you can also use your page keys to scroll up and down to locate the process you want to kill.

Once you located the process, Look for PID number and write it down.

then type “kill -9 and the PID number)

e.g;

#kill -9 8437
